I'd argue that the following albums weren't given their proper due last year:

Frightened Rabbit - The Midnight Organ Fight
Lightspeed Champion - Falling Off The Lavender Bridge
Jamie Lidell - Jim
The Watson Twins - Fire Songs
Old Man Luedecke - Proof Of Love
Eli "Paperboy" Reed & The True Loves - Roll With You

I'd say these albums are highly overrated:

Wolf Parade - At Mount Zoomer
Black Mountain - In The Future
Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes

For the record, just because I think a record is overrated doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. I liked the above three albums, but I didn't think they were as great as the reviews they were getting made them out to be.

What do you think? What were last year's most overrated albums, and what were 2008's most overlooked albums?

I don't get people who don't get The Hold Steady. You might as well admit you hate music.
