Since the reissue of Pearl Jam's Ten has divided our office, we'd like to pose the following question to our readers:

Pearl Jam: Responsible for torrents of terrible music (ie: Nickelback, Creed, etc.) or innocent (ie: the other bands are just "biters" and Pearl Jam have nothing to do with this)?

Let us know what you think.

You can't blame Pearl Jam for all the those crappy rip-offs....that's what happens when you are successful....evryone tries to mimic your success.

Don't you remember the "I learned it by watching you" anti-drug commercials? If the kid's dad wasn't a pot smoker, the kid wouldn't have smoked pot himself. Dad's fault, Pearl Jam's fault.

Or the Beatles considering how big of a fan Cobain was of the Beatles.

DUDE. It's TIN PAN ALLEY'S fault.

Those guys ruined everything. It was TOTALLY all about the cash to them. Look at all the shitty bands that came afterwards because of their money-making philosophy!

wow, this is a toughy.

while i'm definitely a PJ fan, i can also say my life would be better had my ears not been molested by the foulness that is creed, or the 'back.

so is it better to remove one of the greatest rock bands in the past 20 years in order for awful retreads to have never been?

or do we suffer through the awful and recoup with the sublime?

i have to call my old philosophy professor.......

PJ are certainly not responsible for their crappy godchildren. However, they are responsible for not putting out a decent album themselves in the last decade or so. (Sorry, PJ fans)

I apologize because this is off topic, but I'm trying to get people to sign up for a new music/art website my friends just launched. Without name dropping the site here ( I don't want to be labeled  a spammer), where would you guys recommend that I post to inform people?

I don't care if Pearl Jam birthed 30 shitty Nickelback-type spinoffs to rot the minds of radio listeners, I love me my 'Jam too much to hit the proverbial 'undo' button on the band's existence.

Either way, I look at it like this: you don't HAVE to listen to mainstream radio anymore anyways, seeing as how it's next to obsolete. I've got my iPod and a $7 tape deck adapter for the car, I need never be bothered by Kroeger growling about whatever the hell was on joey's head ever again.
