NXNE Reception Food And Drinks

The North By Northeast Music Festival's media conference announcing this year's talent lineup on Monday evening at Toronto's Mill Street Brewery wasn't overflowing with suds like I was hoping for, but I really enjoyed a mug of its relatively light-bodied milk stout and the freshness of the cask-conditioned India Pale Ale. The Helles Bock packed a punch with seven-per-cent alcohol, but I wasn't as sold on its flavour.
There was also good variety on the food side, as I sampled snack-sized portions of fish and chips, pizza squares, stuffed baby potatoes, roast beef sandwiches, bruschetta, shepherd's pie, meatballs, beef skewers and vegetables and dip.
No bands played the event, but the DJ spun a good mix that potentially could have got me dancing if I wasn't busy eating, drinking, talking, reading and writing.
