Ontario Teachers' Federation President's Reception

Ontario Teachers' Federation president Joe Lamoureux was kind enough to invite me to his festive reception at Toronto's Enoch Turner Schoolhouse on Wednedsay evening. It was a quaint venue and, although Joe was the only person there who I knew, I was comforted by the wide range of appetizers on hand: vegetables, bread, dips, fruit, sweet potato fries, spring rolls, sausage rolls, chicken and beef skewers, shrimp, mini pizza slices, meatballs and cheese. There was also an open bar with beer, wine, pre-packaged shooters and even pre-packaged jelly shooters.

The reception ran almost an hour later than it was supposed to, and I downed shooters with the stragglers who were the last to leave. Who knew that education bureaucrats could party like that?
