I'll be honest, Weezer have made tons of videos I'd consider classics, and even their latest is pretty effing awesome. I personally think Weezer no longer make great music, but their videos are still top quality.

In 1994, when the video for "Buddy Holly" came out, I was only nine years old and I didn't know what MTV or MuchMusic was until about a year or so later. At the time, I was more into Green Day than anything else.

My first exposure to Weezer came in 1996 when a Big Sister-type friend (not exactly Big Sisters, but more like a similar program run out of my school and the local high school) I had, who wore extremely baggy pants and a backwards cap (she had Fred Durst beat on that trend years in advance), told me the music she was continually blaring from her Jeep was Weezer.

It wasn't until about seventh or eighth grade (think 1997 or 1998) that I actually saw this video, and of course, by then, Weezer had broken up. I tuned in about halfway through, and at first I wondered why MuchMusic was playing Happy Days. Then I recognized the song and clued in.

Thank you, Big Sister whose name I no longer remember (sorry) for inadvertently getting me into Weezer.

Yeah, this is still one of the greatest videos ever made. Basically, Spike Jonze rules.
