Classic Video Of The Week: I Mother Earth's "One More Astronaut"

This will be the first installment of a new segment where I'll feature a classic music video (most will probably be from the '90s, back when they still played music videos — as opposed to "pop culture programming" — on television). I'll basically yack a lot about ridiculous things I connect with the videos that have absolutely nothing to do with them at all.

It's kind of appropriate that I was first introduced to I Mother Earth through MuchMusic's original Big Shiny Tunes compilation, which was an 11th birthday present from my best friend. I was obsessed with this song (I taped the CD so I could listen to it on my Walkman while I delivered papers on my paper route), and the video is just silly. In a good way.

Who can forget Edwin's hair (hello, 1996) here? Edwin sitting in that huge chair in the middle of an overly green field in a giant chair with huge stars all around him is burned into my mind as one of my key '90s television memories. And the leapfrog at the end is just great.
