John Lennon made his infamous "jewelry" remark 45 years ago.
The Beatles were headlining The Royal Variety Show at London, England's Prince Of Wales Theatre. With the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret in the audience, Lennon introduced "Twist And Shout" by saying, "For our next number, we'd like to ask for your help. Would the people in the cheaper seats clap your hands. And if the rest of you, if you'd just rattle your jewelry."
