"Hang The DJ, Hang The DJ, Hang The DJ..."

Remember on The Smiths' "Panic," when Morrissey sang "Hang the DJ" over and over and complained that "The music that they constantly play/It says nothing to me about my life"? In case you've forgotten:
The funny thing about that is now Mozzer IS a DJ. Or will be for one day next week, at least, when he becomes the guest host for KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic program on Aug. 29.
He'll be presenting his own playlist, which will reportedly include songs by The Courteeners, Sparks, Buzzcocks and something from playwright Noel Coward. I'm willing to bet there'll also be some New York Dolls material in there, 'cause we all know how obsessed Moz is with them. That pretty much guarantees that the material KCRW will play during the program will 100% definitely say something about Moz's life. And thus he gets his revenge.
In other news, if you're interested in seeing Morrissey's rider for a recent show in Tel Aviv, Israel, click here. Please note that Morrissey now not only controls radio playlists, but can also control the wind: "If there is a barbeque spot nearby, the artists' room should be placed so that the wind will not be in their direction."
Also: MORRISSEY DOES NOT EAT ANY KIND OF CHILI OR SPICES.
Vegetables can be pretty bland; that must be rough.
