The Daily Spin: Bob Marley And The Wailers - Gold

I'm not a huge fan of "greatest hits" compilations, and when it comes to Bob Marley there are so many hits compilations that things get confusing, especially when choosing one to listen to.
Gold is my favourite Marley compilation. I prefer it because it gives you a better understanding of Marley's career without being too "hits"-centred, like Legend, or too extensive like the four-disc Songs Of Freedom (which also has remixes, some of which I don't dig).
The only real problem with Gold is it doesn't include songs from albums released before 1973's Catch A Fire. Those records weren't released through Island, so cuts from them don't appear on Gold. That means no material from Soul Rebels, Soul Revolution, or Soul Revolution II. But I enjoy this one enough to keep coming back to it, which is pretty much something I never do with greatest hits albums.
