Musical Moment #1

Every so often, I have these strange little moments while listening to my CD player or iPod where the music matches whatever I'm doing at a particular time or fits a situation I'm in. Some of these moments are "wow"-inducing, while others are just unsettling. Here's the latest:

I had what's probably the strangest moment I've had in a long time while I was walking through the GO side of a deserted and empty Union Station at around 12:45 a.m. on Sunday morning (or Saturday night; pick and choose). I unfortunately live in Oakville at the moment (something that will be remedied at the end of this month when I finally move to the city) and had missed the last train home, which was at 12:43 a.m. This meant I had to walk through Union, which was devoid of people, and catch the 1:30 a.m. bus home.

I had The Doors' 1967 self-titled debut album on my Discman and as soon as I opened the doors (excuse the pun) while walking from the TTC side of Union to the GO side, "End Of The Night" started to play.

I find the weird, music box gone wrong feel to this track strange at the best of times. But this time a shiver went up and down my spine and I had to hit the skip button. That's something I never do when listening to The Doors, which is one of my all-time favourite albums.
