OMG! TTYL, TRL

And more "music television" goes down the crapper. It was announced today that after 10 years on the tube, MTV's Total Request Live is going on an "extended hiatus."
The afternoon show used to countdown the day's top 10 videos, but in recent years has become "a mere conduit for celebrities to plug their current projects," according to Rolling Stone. (Let's face it, I haven't watched the American MTV in a long, long time, so I'm not even going to pretend to know what they've become. Although even when I used to watch the damned show years ago, there was very little music video going on and a whole lotta other crap.)
So what's that going to mean for our music channel here up north? It seemed they copied TRL with their MOD program -- let's hope MuchMusic execs follow suit and cancel the show... or at least get rid of diva Leah Miller. (Please!)
