My First Ever Blog. Ever.

So, let's get started by getting this out of the way: my name is Jen White and I'm an associate editor here at ChartAttack. I'm horrible at introductions (I hope that one wasn't too painful), I'm originally from Newfoundland (this will come up a lot, I promise) and I love stuff that is terrible for me, including McDonald's, booze and the odd radio hit. But overall, I guess all you really need to know is that I love music and all things pop culture.

Death Cab are pretty much my main squeeze, Weezer are still in my heart (though The Red Album is really, really bad) and I'll always have a soft spot for the men (boys?) in Sloan. I draw inspiration from Chuck Klosterman, though I never really do anything substantial with said inspiration. But maybe this is my chance!

See, I've been an arts writer for a while now, but this whole blog thing... I dunno. For as long as I can remember, I've hated really "fitting in" with trends. Hence my unexplained hatred for, say, Vampire Weekend. And blogs. I always thought they were for whiny people who had nothing better to do than wax poetic about the toast they had for breakfast that day. So don't expect any of that here -- I never eat breakfast. But I digress...

So I hope you enjoy my random musings about Britney Spears, the music industry, my new favourite band (which will rotate constantly) and the next Weezer album, which I'm sure will be just as bad as the last one.
