The folks at CMW asked me to submit a list of band tips for the festival, so for those of you who won't see it because you won't be down at the hotel trying to "get deals" or "network" or whatever happens down there (I never go because I'm always actually working) I've reprinted the list here.

1) Every band, every night at CHARTattack.com's showcases at the Horseshoe Tavern. It's a cheap plug considering my website's sponsoring all three nights, but it's true.

2) Abdominal @ Supermarket, Saturday. Dude's probably the best rapper in the country. And now he has a band, too.

3) The Wong Boys @ Wrongbar, Thursday. This is what happens if Peaches was a white male Mr. T wannabe from Denmark.

4) Jenn Grant @ The Reverb, Saturday. "The next Feist" tends to work well to get people's attention.

5) Fred @ The Hideout, Thursday. Get over the name, the Irish band's album is solid.

6) The Morning After Girls @ Tranzac, Saturday. BJM + BRMC + Dandys. If that means nothing to you, don't go.

7) White Cowbell Oklahoma @ Lee's Palace, Friday. Your best bet for a party if you've had more than eight drinks.

8) Inward Eye @ The Rivoli, Thursday. The Who-meets-Green Day.

9) Arkells @ Rivoli, Saturday. This is working man's rock. The next Constantines.

10) Black Diamond Bay @ Rancho Relaxo, Friday. Former Dears members go classic rock.

11) Cuff The Duke @ Lee's Palace, Saturday. Their recent album was brilliant.

12) Ruth Minnikin @ Savannah Room, Friday. She's good.
