Soul Coughing at the Guvernment in Toronto on October 13 was a disappointment to this photographer. Of seven shows in three years, this was the only one where I failed to connect with the band on any level. The energy on stage was low and the tribal groove so endemic of Soul Coughing shows was a stutter instead of the usual roar. I felt purple that evening and decided to return the favour to Doughty, courtesy of Adobe's Photoshop^TM.
