TORONTO - Simple Plan make "the best album ever" according to renowned musicologist Megan Spfan. Spfan received her PhD in Popular Music from Cambridge University and has published numerous books on the topic. Most recently, her "Coupe Chevaux: A Visual history of Montreal pop punk haircuts"was nominated for the prestigious Giller Prize.
Spfan makes the distinction after years of chronicling the best music the world has to offer. She posits, "Their edgy third studio album, simply entitled 'Simple Plan', beat out the likes of Rubber Soul, Pet Sounds and Exile On Main Street. In fact, it blew those pieces of garbage out of the water."
When reached for comment, Joe Strummer could be heard rolling over in his grave.
