Welcome to CHARTattack.com's 14th Annual Readers' Poll.
The lists are really long, so to vote, look at everything, pick one, then scroll to the bottom and click "vote."
Once you've done that, click on the "Next Question" link (there are 10 of 'em). That'll bring you to the next question.
We've set this poll so that each person can vote once per day. After much debate, we've opened up the voting to unlimited, so vote as much as you like.
On to voting!
First question: #1 The Golden Toque Award (Best Canadian Album)

The daily voting option is a pretty stupid way to determine true reader picks. With a voting system not tied directly to IP addresses, this Poll only determines which musicians have the fans with the most time on their hands to waste recasting votes daily. Just a sign that these results can't be taken very seriously at all. And where is the Valery Gore album? I can't vote on the best album when you're missing one of the most serious contenders, and why bother including last year's Andorra by Caribou? Does Chart base it's year on the same schedule as the Polaris Prize rather than simply making eligible the albums actually released during the year we're supposed to be voting on? I was going to vote, but it seems pointless to even bother with the shody excuse for music journalism this digital rag proliferates.
Hey Pink Christ, if you recall last year's writers poll, Andorra scored pretty high among most, if not all of the Chart staffers.
Quite often records released in one year don't get their due until the next. Including Andorra on the list is giving people who didn't know about it until 2008 a chance to vote for what is arguably one of the best Canadian records of both years.
Plus, if Chart omitted it, someone would accuse us of being elitists and "shoddy excuses" for journalists because it wasn't on the list.
So, I guess the moral of the story is, you can't please everyone, even with almost 100 different choices for best Canadian album.
