We emailed a bunch of questions to Canadian acts playing at NXNE 2014. Here's what Thoughts On Air had to say.

The merits of NXNE are up for debate, but what isn't are the great new Canada-based bands and musicians that play every year. We've assembled a series of mini-profiles of some smaller acts you should check out.
Thoughts On Air is a psychedelic guitar project from Scott Cloud. He plays tonight at 8PM at The Garrison and on Thursday at 9PM at The Boat.

Where are you from and what's your favourite thing to do there?

I'm from brockville ontario....when I visit which is usually once a year, I like to catch up, watch movies, eat food with my folks there...and drift out on occasion downtown after they hit the hay.

What were you doing before you started answering these questions?

I just got back from work....I prep up and clean @ the cafe/bar/eatery called "The Brain" here in hamilton 5 mornings a week.

How should we prepare for your NXNE show?

Only god knows. Sometimes even I don't.

What present should a fan bring for you to the gig to show their appreciation?

70s and 80s cassettes have a tendency to win this man's heart...or [their] own music on tape.

Why does the rest of Canada hate Toronto? Should they?

I don't pay attention, have fun wherever you are...someone who sat on a pickle cucumber or pineapple will always have a prob wherevs they are...don't let it fester ya....

What's your favourite thing on the Internet right now?

The ongoing spread of spiritual awareness, people in the world finding and choosing a spiritual path, finding spirituality in their purpose by choosing it, choosing openness, inner and outer expansion of empathy, understanding and acceptance, choosing the path of letting go of assumption and judgement upon others and the possible realization that 1 individual is connected to all...that our individual existence and the perceptions upon which we flow may just affect absolutely everything around us, not just our actions....and that it's time to let go of the fear based baby child within us that believes it has to play games to have a fulfilling life....that scared little child--->we call ego...possibly ;)

Who are you most excited to see at NXNE and why?

I'll admit I'm taking a cash grab and missing my rights to a festival pass----I'm riddled in debt and transmute cash into an angst ridden bender anytime it comes my way. I haven't been keeping in touch with most music except what flies into this city or whomever I watch when a friend says "this is cool you should go." If I could I'd be most excited to see Daniel Lopatin aka OPN.

What's your favourite summer activity?

Campfires, swimming, or getting off the grid and making our own fun in nature outdoors.

Are you working on any new music? Describe its sound using a food analogy.

Alchemy wise, working on fusing in this new brand of scotch bonnet appropriately on a 2 way street tastebud appreciation level, hopeful.

What artist perk do you wish NXNE gave out?

Superpower abilities at the door....I'd f shit up on a menacing and comedic level.

Post a YouTube video that's the opposite of your band.

The Trojans - Gaelic Ska 1987
