DD/MM/YYYY were one of Canada’s finest experiment indie pop acts, so it’s little wonder that Absolutely Free, the band that formed from that project’s demise, continues on its tradition of mesmerizing electronic anthems. The band invited us into their practice space (located in a nearly impenetrable underground tunnel maze) for a performance of “UFO,” a buzzing carnival whirligig that sounds like bits of more genres than we have space to name.
