Wild Flag – Romance by MergeRecords
Wild Flag, the riot grrl supergroup featuring ex-Sleater Kinney members Carrie Brownstein and Janet Weiss, Helium’s Mary Timony and The Minders’ Rebecca Cole, will release their self-titled debut album on Sept. 13.
“Romance” will be one of the tunes on it, and boy oh boy does it ever sound like Brownstein and Weiss’ former band. There’s a bit more keyboards thrown in the mix than you’re used to, but basically this is where Sleater-Kinney left off with 2005′s The Woods. And that clap-along part in the second verse… it makes this tune nothing less than an earworm.
