Beirut‘s making his long-awaited return on Aug. 30 with a new album called The Rip Tide. Like 2007′s The Flying Club Cup, it features more European influences than Gulag Orkestar.
“East Harlem” will appear on it, and it’s probably one of the most “rock n’ roll” (if you can even call Beirut that) tracks Zach Condon’s done.
It might just be me, but when I hear somebody’s releasing an album called The Rip Tide with tunes like “Port Of Call” and “Vagabond,” I kinda wish they were singing in pirate English. Something for Condon to consider in the future?
