Blondie

It’s hard to believe that Blondie’s Parallel Lines is 30 years old, but Capitol Records will recognize the milestone by releasing a special edition of the New York City new wave group’s major breakthrough album on June 24.

Parallel Lines (30th Anniversary Edition) will feature the original LP, four bonus tracks and a DVD featuring three music videos and a previously unreleased performance of “Sunday Girl” from BBC TV’s Top Of The Pops program. A booklet featuring shots from the photo session for the original album will also be included.

Blondie’s third album featured their first #1 North American hit, “Heart Of Glass,” and six of its 12 songs were released as singles either in the U.K. or U.S. It was produced by Mike Chapman (The Knack, Bow Wow Wow) and featured original group members Debbie Harry (vocals), Chris Stein (guitar), Clem Burke (drums) and Jimmy Destri (keyboards) as well as guitarist Frank Infante and bassist Nigel Harrison.

Blondie, who were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2006, will play in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Russia and Israel on their Parallel Lines 30th Anniversary Tour this year. The only Canadian shows at this point are at Casino Rama in Rama, Ont. on June 12 and 13.

Here are the tracks on Blondie's Parallel Lines (30th Anniversary Edition):

  • "Hanging On The Telephone"
  • "One Way Or Another"
  • "Picture This"
  • "Fade Away And Radiate"
