Lovebirds Mates Of State Get Re-Arranged

Mates Of State

The husband and wife duo of drummer/vocalist Jason Hammel and organist/vocalist Kori Gardner have been releasing joyful pop albums under their Mates Of State moniker for eight years. Although they seem happy with this arrangement, they'll release Re-Arrange Us on May 20 via Barsuk Records.

The San Francisco group's fifth full-length and first since 2006's Bring It Back features reversible and multi-layered cover art that it can be manipulated into eight different combinations. Lead single "Get Better" can be heard on Mates Of State's MySpace page.

Mates Of State will appear at the Pemberton Festival in Pemberton, B.C. on July 25.
