Saskatoon's recently reformed Junior Pantherz will release their sixth album, Rejoice, Remain, through Saved By Radio Records on May 27.
The disc is the band's first release since 2005's Death By Life. It was recorded and mixed by bassist S.J. Kardash at Living Space Studios and mastered by J.J. Golden (Calexico, Devendra Banhart) at Golden Mastering in Ventura, Calif. You can preview four tracks from Rejoice, Remain on the Junior Pantherz MySpace page.
Singer/guitarist Terry Mattson and drummer Arnold Van Lambalgen II began jamming together in 1993. They formed Junior Pantherz in 1999 with Kardash, a classically trained upright bassist and pianist who opened gigs for Colin James and Sass Jordan when he was 11. The trio broke up after Death By Life was released, but later reformed and added Kardash's sister Maygen on keyboards. The Kardash siblings also play in The Blood Lines.
