After releasing six albums in the last five years, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy will add another to the tally with Lie Down In The Light.
The album, featuring 13 new tracks by the artist whose real name is Will Oldham, will be released on May 20 by Drag City. It was mixed by Mark Nevers (Calexico, Silver Jews) and features contributions from Will's brother Paul Oldham, Emmett Kelley (Cairo Gang), Shahzad Izmaily and Ashley Webber (The Organ).
Before adopting the Bonnie 'Prince' Billy handle, the prolific Oldham performed and recorded under the names Palace, Palace Brothers, Palace Songs and Palace Music in the '90s. Over the years he's collaborated with the likes of Johnny Cash, Sage Francis, Sun Kil Moon, Jason Molina, David Pajo, Matt Sweeney, Tortoise and Scout Niblett. The 37-year-old has also acted in several independent films.
