We have some updates for celebrity stalkers who'll be in Calgary for the upcoming Juno Awards festivities.
In addition to the people we've already announced who'll perform on the nationally televised April 6 awards show, we can now reveal that these folks have been confirmed to announce winners and hand out trophies that evening: nominees Alex Cuba, Belly, Corb Lund, Deborah Cox, Tom Cochrane, IllScarlett, Jesse Cook, James Ehnes, Pascale Picard, Serena Ryder, Sophie Milman, Suzie McNeil and Blue Rodeo's Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor. Canadian Music Hall Of Fame inductee Ian Tyson, Canadian Heritage Minister Josee Verner and the winner of the Doritos Ultimate Fan contest will also get in on the presentation action.
To refresh your memory and make sure we didn't leave anyone out, here are the entertainers who will perform on CTV's Russell Peters-hosted production from the Pengrowth Saddledome: Avril Lavigne, Feist, Finger Eleven, Hedley, Jully Black, Measha Brueggergosman and Michael Buble. Anne Murray will duet with Jann Arden and Sarah Brightman. Aaron Lines, Gord Bamford, Johnny Reid, Paul Brandt and Shane Yellowbird will take part in an all-country musical tribute to Calgary and Alberta.
If you're enough of an insider to be invited to the Juno gala dinner and awards presentation at the Telus Convention Centre on April 5, you'll be treated to an evening hosted by opera soprano, Juno nominee and all-around fun gal Measha Brueggergosman. Thirty-two prizes will be given out, while broadcasting pioneer Moses Znaimer will receive the Walt Grealis Special Achievement Award and country star Paul Brandt will be honoured with the inaugural Allan Waters Humanitarian Award.
In addition to the presentations, there will be performances by: Jorane with Richard Underhill; best world music album nominees Autorickshaw, Celso Machado, Jesse Cook and Kiran Ahluwalia; top new artist nominees Jeremy Fisher, Jill Barber and Serena Ryder backed by Blue Rodeo; Ryder again, as part of a memorial tribute; IllScarlett; Pascale Picard; the Calgary Stampede Showband; and Young Tribe, a group of student First Nations drummers.
As part of Juno Fan Fare, which will be held at the University Of Calgary's Olympic Oval from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sirius Satellite Radio will present the Sirius Rockstar Photo Lounge where devotees and groupies will be able to win prizes and have their pictures taken with these Juno nominees:
