Edmonton rockers Tupelo Honey will release their third EP, Machines & Robots, on April 8.
The record will be available through iTunes, the band's website and at selected music stores. Machines & Robots features five new tracks, including the first single/video, "Morphine."
Tupelo Honey formed in 2003 after Daniel Davidson (guitars), Tyler Dianocky (guitars), Steve Vincent (bass) and Greg Williamson (drums) discovered vocalist Matthew Landry performing solo. They took their moniker from Landry's father's favourite song, the title track of Van Morrison's 1971 album. Their first self-titled EP was released in 2005 and The September Sessions EP followed last year.
Tupelo Honey have toured with Theory Of A Deadman, Metric, Billy Talent, Thornley, The Trews, K-OS and many others. They won the 2005 Canadian Music Week Xtreme Bandslam competition and "Screaming" won the Canadian Radio Star Songwriting Competition in 2006.
Tupelo Honey plan a Canadian tour in support of Machines & Robots, and dates should be announced soon. They have an April 4 appearance scheduled for Calgary's The Gateway as part of JunoFest. Vancouver indie pop band Sweethearts and fellow Albertans Five Star Affair and Cranston Foundation are also on the bill.
Here are the tracks on Machines & Robots:
