Cancer Bats Swoop Through Eastern Canada In April and May

Eastern Canadian hardcore scenesters, get yourselves ready for the mosh pit, because Cancer Bats are coming your way.

The Toronto hardcore punk band will play a string of dates in support of their sophomore album, Hail Destroyer, which is due on April 22 through Distort. Cancer Bats are fresh off two performances at the South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas last week and spent February and early March on the road in western Canada. A video for Hail Destroyer's title track is on the way.

The band formed in 2005 and quickly built a large following, including the members of Alexisonfire, who've appeared in some of their videos. Alexisonfire's Wade MacNeil appeared on Cancer Bats' 2006 debut, Birthing The Giant. The band were named favourite metal/hardcore group at last year's Canadian Independent Music Awards and they won a best independent video MuchMusic Video Award for "French Immersion."
