Seattle avant-rock quartet Kinski have included three vocal tracks from guitarist Chris Martin on their third Sub-Pop album, Down Below It's Chaos.
Martin (who isn't married to Gwyneth Paltrow and doesn't sit behind a piano singing light rock ballads), Matthew Reid-Schwartz (guitar, keyboards, flute), Lucy Atkinson (bass) and Barrett Wilke (drums) recorded the nine-song album with producer Randall Dunn (Earth, Boris) at his Aleph Studio in Seattle.
The CD packaging will come in three different colours and the vinyl LP features different artwork on the gatefold and comes in a fourth hue. You can take your pick when the follow-up to 2005's Alpine Static comes out on Aug. 21.
Kinski opened a month of shows for Tool in the spring and have toured with Mission Of Burma, Oneida, Mono, Acid Mothers Temple and Black Mountain. The primarily instrumental group only have one hometown show this weekend confirmed on their concert calendar.
Here are the songs on Down Below It's Chaos:
- "Crybaby Blowout"
- "Passwords & Alcohol"
- "Dayroom At Narita Int'l."
- "Boy, Was I Mad!"
- "Argentina Turner"
- "Child Had To Catch A Train"
- "Plan, Steal, Drive"
- "Punching Goodbye Out Front"
- "Silent Biker Type"
