 The Ladybug Transistor |
Brooklyn, New York band The Ladybug Transistor have quietly been releasing albums since their 1995 Marlborough Arms debut, and they've made lots of friends in the indie pop scene during that time. Now a number of those folks have chipped in on the group's sixth studio LP, Can't Wait Another Day.
Band members Gary Olson, Julia Rydholm, Ben Crum, Kyle Forester, Jeff Baron and late drummer San Fadyl are joined on the new record by members of Architecture In Helsinki, The Clientele and Aislers Set, as well as Jens Lekman, Kevin Barker (Vetiver), Heather McIntosh (Circulatory System, Instruments) and Roy Nathanson (Lounge Lizards, Jazz Passengers), among others. Fadyl passed away suddenly on April 26 after suffering an asthma attack.
The Ladybug Transistor also recently worked with Soft Machine's Kevin Ayers on a soon-to-be-released album that was produced by Olson, whose other recent recording projects include work with Mates Of State, Circulatory System and a duet with Sweden's Marit Bergman.
While the group are touring in support of the new album, which will be released by Merge on June 5, no Canadian dates have been announced.
Here are the songs on Can't Wait Another Day:
- "Always On The Telephone"
- "I'm Not Mad Enough"
- "Here Comes The Rain"
- "Terry"
- "This Old Chase"
- "For No Other"
- "Three Days From Now"
- "In-Between"
- "So Blind"
- "Broken Links"
