Band 2 Band: GROUPLOVE have a friendship breakthrough

Nov 17, 2016
Our video series Band 2 Band helps artists learn more about each other in the most natural way we could think of: by pulling questions out of a jar and asking them to each other.

GROUPLOVE's story is like none other. They all met at an artist's residency on the island of Crete in Greece and a lifelong friendship was born out of it. Their music is the spark that lit on that island. It's sky-high, unifying and uplifting. It can make you feel like you never went to pilot school but are currently 40,000 feet in the air flying a jet. Don't know how that feels? Put on a GROUPLOVE song.

We brought together bassist Daniel Gleason and guitarist/vocalist Andrew Wessen for a round of Band 2 Band. It'd be hard to find two better friends, but we still made a friendship breakthrough halfway through the interview. That's what this is all about. Learning and discovery amongst people who spend 24 hours a day together.

"Thank you Band 2 Band," says Andrew. That's what this is all about.

GROUPLOVE's new album Big Mess is out now on Atlantic Records.
