Chance The Rapper: His Defining Moment

May 18, 2016

Chancelor Bennett aka Chano aka Chance The Rapper has been on his way to stardom for longer than you might realize. Before the hype of Acid Rap was a young kid from West Chatham, Chicago growing on his own path. His father worked alongside Barack Obama while he was senator and tried getting his eldest child, Chance, to follow in his political footsteps. We all know how that went.

Through high school, Chance was making a name for himself through releases like Good Enough & Back To School Pack EP. He started Instrumentality, a hip-hop duo, with a friend, and the high school teachers didn't approve of much that he did.

But what was the pivotal moment for Chance? When shit really took off and made him unstoppable. In the first of a new Chart Attack Series called "Their Defining Moment," we locate the one thing that gave Chance the torch and put him on a path to the top of the hip-hop throne.

Chance The Rapper's Coloring Book is out now.
