Band 2 Band: Daughter cast the movie versions of themselves

Mar 9, 2016
Our video series Band 2 Band helps artists learn more about each other in the most natural way we could think of: by pulling questions out of a jar and asking them to each other.

Not To Disappear, the sophomore album from London, England trio Daughter is the moment the egg cracks. It's an expansive new direction, adding a multitude of textures and new flavours to their music. It sounds like they took a month off to explore Iceland in the winter, with the northern lights glistening above, then recorded the sound of that imagery.

We got vocalist/guitarist Elena Tonra, guitarist Igor Haefeli and drummer Remi Aguilella to reminisce with each other around Chart Attack's fish bowl. They talk about what they miss most when they leave England, what they've always wanted to do on stage (hint: leave it, dramatically), and cast the "shit" versions of each other for the Daughter movie. But they can't quite decide on the soundtrack...

The band liked the interview so much, they pocketed the questions after it was over. Why? We're not sure.

Daughter's new album Not To Disappear is out now on Glassnote Records.
