RAPID FIRE: Rhys Darby shows off his completely useless talent

Sep 25, 2015
Rapid Fire gets our favourite artists and comedians to answer hard-hitting questions about their childhood, imagination, and the future, as fast as they can before our non-existent timer runs out.

Rhys Darby has an excellent accent. So excellent I'd consider paying him to be my friend just to listen to it more often. You may have seen his face in Flight of the Conchords or from his New Zealand-skewering Netflix show Short Poppies. He's ridiculously funny and has lots of incredibly useless talent that he more than willingly shows us. Rhys is a warm spirit, a kind soul, and he has a laugh that automatically makes you laugh as well. The best kind, you know?

In Rapid Fire, old Ginger Balls himself does a range of things you've always wanted him to say and/or do: He imitates a sprinkler, he tells you the exact point you need to stop buying cats, and he tells us the completely horrifying reason for his favourite firecracker.

Special thanks to Fran's Restaurant for hosting us. You can almost smell the delicious breakfast in the video. Don't miss Rhys Darby's five night stint at the Royal Theatre where he performs during JFL42, which officially started last night.
