Noisemakers: Wrong Hole play a punk tribute to Home Alone

Dec 11, 2014
Long Winter Spotlight White
Noisemakers captures performances by our favourite emerging artists, off-stage and up-close.

For this special Long Winter Spotlight version of Noisemakers, Toronto synth-punks Wrong Hole decided to give us something a bit festive: their new song "Home Alone." The song is a handy summary of Kevin McCallister's adventures fending off those home invaders both stranded at his house and lost in (Brooklyn,) New York, even if the band did take a few "slight" liberties with the plot to make it more interesting.

Ever wonder what happens to little Kev after his presumed stint at juvey? Watch the video above and follow along with the lyrics:

You got the burglars
You got the kid
You got the traps
Chris Colombo directed
Kevin was home alone
His life was in danger
Burglar home invasion
Wacky situation
I don't wanna be home alone
We don't wanna be home alone
Throw this lonely kid a bone
Trip the burglar with a traffic cone

Let's go to Brooklyn
Artisinal hotel
Burglars and the traps
Kevin sends them all to hell
What a big city
There are taxi drivers
Kevin gets married
Kevin becomes old and tired

I don't wanna be home alone
We don't wanna be home alone
Throw this lonely kid a bone
Trip the burglar with a traffic cone

Trip the burglar
Traffic cone
Burglar
Cone
You're gonna die tonight

You're gonna die alone

Wrong Hole's practice space was a sardine tin gear graveyard, but we did manage to fit in our crew and the whole band: comedian Nick Flanagan, Andrew Moszynski (Deadly Snakes, Quest For Fire, Comet Control), Jon Schouten (Teenanger) and the $40 drum machine we'll call Lucy.

Catch Wrong Hole in the spacier Great Hall in Toronto tomorrow (Friday, December 12) for Long Winter - Year Three / Volume Two.

Wrong Hole's debut album 2012 is out now on Pleasence. Listen to the whole thing below.
