Noisemakers: Dilly Dally rip through “Candy Mountain” and “Green” in a cage

Oct 16, 2014
Noisemakers captures performances by our favourite emerging artists, off-stage and up-close.

Dilly Dally's slurry grunge pop is the stuff of disaffected teen dreams. Little did we know our Noisemakers shoot at a hometown bar (the kind of place you see people outside of, but never going into) would play out in such glorious garage band fashion. One after another, angry people from neighbouring businesses (three of them) barged in to complain about the noise. We were even briefly kicked out (until someone saved the day). But by this point we were in too deep to stop, so we gracefully turned the guitars to 17, put in our ear plugs and went full force.

The Toronto foursome of Katie Monks (vocals, guitar), Liz Ball (guitar), Jimmy Billy Rowlinson (bass), Benjamin Reinhartz (drums), performed the A and B-side to their brand new 7" released this week. Above, "Candy Mountain," and below, "Green" (also below, a contest to win the 7", two tickets to their Toronto release show, and a Buzz Records prize pack). You pick which video you want to watch first, but I can assure you you'll want to watch both.
