VIDEO REVIEW: Ty Segall’s Manipulator critiqued with hot dogs

Aug 29, 2014

Ty Segall's Manipulator should have been the album of the summer. If this was a few years ago, the prolific California rocker dude would have knocked out three albums, some compilation appearances and a split EP by now. Instead, he took his sweet time crafting a glammy double album studio epic, and released it right before Labour Day. Now it has just one long weekend to make its case before the surfer kids head back to skipping school.

So we took the challenge and assigned Manipulator to our BBQ host Chris Locke, who reviewed it the only way he knows how: with hot dogs. How much mustard does the Manipulator dog get? What kind of relish represents how damn old this album makes Chris feel? Is he pronouncing Ty's name right? Find out above.

Chris Locke's new album The World Is Embarrassing is out now on iTunes. Watch him review Ab-Soul's These Days here.
