Your parents will tell you playing video games won't get you anywhere, but Plants And Animals frontman Warren Spicer feels differently.

It takes commitment to get the flame sword in Dragon Warrior, he suggests. You need to find the flute, kill a golem and then fork out 9,800 gold pieces. As Spicer sees it, that kind of expedition is a lot like being in a band…

So, you're about to play the big industry event that is Canadian Music Week. What's the most shameless thing you've ever done to promote your band?
Warren Spicer: I said I was related to Eric Clapton.

What's the hardest part about being an up-and-coming band?
Its kind of like starting a quest in Dragon Warrior. You have to spend hours and hours killing all kinds of small, easy monsters in order to save enough gold to buy the flame sword.

How important is it for your band members to circulate and flirt with the audience before or after the show?
That depends. If you have the flame sword, then flirting is totally moot.

Have you ever stolen from someone else's rider? If so, who was it and what did you take?

Have you ever been graded before according to ChartAttack.com's Rock 'n' Roll Report Cards?
No.

Does the idea of being graded bring back bad memories of being in elementary school or high school?
No, but hash does.

Have you done anything new or interesting this week?
Started digging my second "incredible tunnel." This one will go from my apartment to the Dingle tower.
