NEW BJORK REMIX ALBUM COMING SOON
Bjork will be releasing a new remix album called Telegram at the end of the month; it will feature "radically reworked versions" of the tracks from her last Post, according to the folks at NME. On it, you'll find contributions from a host of avante-guard artists, including percussionist Evelyn Glennie, The Brodsky Quartet and techno artists LFO. A spokeswoman for Bjork's record company One Little Indian said that the album was put together for "artistic creativity as opposed to commerciality."
GOOD BUTTHOLE, BAD EAR HOLE
Butthole Surfers frontman Gibby Haynes has been ordered by doctors to stop performing for at least two months, due to a punctured eardrum. Seems that he got the problem on their recent tour for their new album Electriclarryland and made it worse by ignoring it and continuing to perform.
HANSON BROTHERS: ANIMALS ON THE ICE, VIRGINS ON THE TUBE
Vancouver-based puck rock band the Hanson Brothers may be familiar to you for one of two different reasons: a) they are the musical alter egos of NoMeansNo and b) they have taken their name from the twisted hockey movie Slapshot. They will definitely NOT be known for their videos, 'cause they haven't made any. Until now. To promote their new disc Sudden Death, the group plans to record two live shows scheduled for this weekend in their hometown Vancouver, with the intent of releasing "The Hockey Song" to a t.v. station near you.
